Shortly before the start of the World Championships in Sibirian Khanty Mansiysk Sven summed up his season until now and talkes about his expectations for the the WCH:

»We didn't have a bad start into the season, considering the fact that the World Championships were our aim. Unfortunately I fell ill during the biathlon trophy and had to stay in bed for a few days because of an influenzal infection This break made me drop in the total world cup score and I was a bit worried because the rules for the participation in mass start competitions at WCH had been changed. The start in Scandinavia didn't go too well until I finally recovered myself. Especially winning the sprint in Oestersund makes me feel a bit more confident about the World Championships, though I noticed I hadn't regained my shape to perform every competition on the same high level after my illness. I worked very intensly on that for the last weeks. Anyway, I deeply believe that it isn't possible to compete on a top level in biathlon throughout the whole season. We'll see who'll manage to have the perfect timing in Sibiria. I'll definetely try my best. It would be nice, if it'd be enough to win a medal«.
